Starting the Final Task

 Hello, my name is Aniya Smith and this is my intro blog to the final task in media studies. I am an 11th grader at Fort Lauderdale High School and has been taking Cambridge courses for the past two years. I am working with two of my close friends that also takes the class in AS level. My group partners are Maiyah Dukes and Ryeyauni Bush. I did previous projects with them both and our grades came out to be good so I thought it would be the perfect idea to put all of us in one project. They are some of the best people to work with in my opinion. Usually, when I work with them we all have access to important things such as a camera, internet and we are good with communicating with one another. Another reason why I chose them to work with me is because we all basically like the same things. We all agree on things quickly such as our two pitches, all of us shared our ideas and then all agreed on the one that we thought was best. This was good for us because we had interest on the same types of topics and we all wanted our pitches to do something with whats happening in the real world today. So when we figures out what we were going to do with the pitch, we all agreed on what it would be. I do believe that I could've did this project by myself but there are many reasons of why I chose it to do with a team. With  team, it seems easier to get a task done. It also helps me with my time management, if i'm working with a group, it pushes me to be on the same pace as they're going because I wouldn't want to be left behind in the project. Also, in my opinion, working with others is fun. The whole process of doing the work is fun and you have others to entertain you. It also makes the film more creative. I feel like the more people that you have in a film the more creative the film would be better and it would drag the audience attention even more. I also do believe that it would kind of be more of a struggle if I was to work by myself. Having others work with me would take some of the stress off my back and theirs. Overall, since my group mates and I have found two pitches that would be good for both of us, I am certain that we will pick the right one and our film will be different and exciting.

Production Blog: Halfway There

 My group and I are still currently filming our video for our final task. The due date for the assignment is almost near and we are halfway through the video. We currently recorded the parts where we decided that we were going to split then this weekend, we plan to meet up at a park and rehearse the last scene of the film. Due to the fact that the assignment is due in a week, I think my group is on perfect timing. After the meet on Sunday, we plan to start editing the video so that we can attach it to our blogs. On Sunday, it is our last shooting day out of 4. We plan on meeting up at a park where we all are close by, and we will shoot the last minute or the last few seconds of the film. The beginning or the first minute and a half of the film, we did all our recordings at our homes by ourselves. This works because it is like everyone is getting a phone call from separate areas. Production Blog: First Few Seconds

During spring break, my group and i started our recording process for our film for our final task. Our group  has been working hard to get our first scene right. The first clip of the video is about 15 - 30 seconds long. After finishing it the editor of the group has begun doing the editing process of the film. Since the break, we haven't done much recording since. We want to film each scene piece by piece. We also understand that some of the group mates might b busy from time to time that's why we broke up our filming dates. We are also still currently in the starting process of our film. We do plan on doing some more recording this weekend since we do have a 3 day weekend and it gives us much time to do some recording. We plan on recording our second scene of the film and then try to do some more recording throughout the week. Production Blog: Sunday and Final Plans

 Finally, my group and I have officially decided what we were going to do and we confirmed it. So now, because we still haven't recorded our final part of the film, which will be recorded on Sunday, we are still at Base B with our film but for sure we are almost done. Currently, every member of the group has their own parts. Like said before in the last blog, we want to start editing our film around next Tuesday so that we can submit our film on Thursday. To start editing on Tuesday, we have to submit all of our clips by Tuesday so our editor of the group can start editing. It is for sure that every person apart of our group will be in the film. I will be in the first clip, I will be the one who commits suicide. Most likely I will only be in that only clip of the film. I will also be apart of another clip but I will be on a flyer.
