My Pitch

 Pitches. As a group me and my partners came up with two pitches. Before we reached our final two, we came across and discussed many different ideas. A few of those pitches were a movie about a dog with super powers and a girl who is stuck between two boys. The final two pitches that we decided on was a friend group of 3 discovers that they have a secret admirer and a depressed teen who takes their life due to a mixture of mental health caused by online school and being cyber bullied. What interested us about the pitch regarding the friend group is that we could each play a part being that we are also a group of 3. Another thing that interested us about this particular pitch is that it reminded each of us of a show we all watched. We would be interested in making this film because it would allow for all of us to showcase our acting abilities while also showcasing are directing skills. A con that we discussed if we were to make this film is that we may not all be able to get together as often due to covid-19. Another con that we discussed is that it may be too similar to the show that we all watched. What interested us about the pitch regarding online school and cyberbullying is that we all are currently doing school online as well as many others across the world. Another thing that interested us is that it would allow for our creative abilities to really show. We would be interested in making this film because it sheds light on mental health issues which we take very seriously. A con that we discussed if we were to make this film is that we may not be able to execute it how we would hope to. Another con that we discussed is that it may be a sensitive topic for many. We had a lengthy discussion about both pitches. At one point it was two against 1. Ultimately, the pitch that we decided on was a depressed teen who takes their life due to a mixture of mental health issues caused online school and cyber bullying. We chose this pitch because it includes an important issue that many people can relate to. It also will challenge our creative abilities which we are looking forward to!

Production Blog: Halfway There

 My group and I are still currently filming our video for our final task. The due date for the assignment is almost near and we are halfway through the video. We currently recorded the parts where we decided that we were going to split then this weekend, we plan to meet up at a park and rehearse the last scene of the film. Due to the fact that the assignment is due in a week, I think my group is on perfect timing. After the meet on Sunday, we plan to start editing the video so that we can attach it to our blogs. On Sunday, it is our last shooting day out of 4. We plan on meeting up at a park where we all are close by, and we will shoot the last minute or the last few seconds of the film. The beginning or the first minute and a half of the film, we did all our recordings at our homes by ourselves. This works because it is like everyone is getting a phone call from separate areas. Production Blog: First Few Seconds

During spring break, my group and i started our recording process for our film for our final task. Our group  has been working hard to get our first scene right. The first clip of the video is about 15 - 30 seconds long. After finishing it the editor of the group has begun doing the editing process of the film. Since the break, we haven't done much recording since. We want to film each scene piece by piece. We also understand that some of the group mates might b busy from time to time that's why we broke up our filming dates. We are also still currently in the starting process of our film. We do plan on doing some more recording this weekend since we do have a 3 day weekend and it gives us much time to do some recording. We plan on recording our second scene of the film and then try to do some more recording throughout the week. Production Blog: Sunday and Final Plans

 Finally, my group and I have officially decided what we were going to do and we confirmed it. So now, because we still haven't recorded our final part of the film, which will be recorded on Sunday, we are still at Base B with our film but for sure we are almost done. Currently, every member of the group has their own parts. Like said before in the last blog, we want to start editing our film around next Tuesday so that we can submit our film on Thursday. To start editing on Tuesday, we have to submit all of our clips by Tuesday so our editor of the group can start editing. It is for sure that every person apart of our group will be in the film. I will be in the first clip, I will be the one who commits suicide. Most likely I will only be in that only clip of the film. I will also be apart of another clip but I will be on a flyer.
