Introduction to the Music Video Project

  This project is a new project and one of the biggest ones yet, a music video. For this project, I am working with my friend from a different class period Maiyah Dukes. This has been my friend for a while and since we have the same class this year, we thought that it would be a great idea to work with each other. It is a two person song that we both knew so we thought it was a great idea to work together. We have never worked on a project together before but we are really close and thought this project would be a fun opportunity for us to work together. We also think much alike. It wasn't hard to pick the song that we chose and we already made up dates of what we are going to do that concerns the project. Many other classmates and friends have asked me to be their partner but Maiyah also did ask me first. And even if she didn't, I probably still would have chose her because I think that we would be a great team besides me and anyone else. The song that we chose for this project is called Same Girl by R Kelly and Usher. This song is about the two being friends and finding out that they are talking to the same woman. The scene is shot where both of them are on the phone talking to each other. As they're on the phone, R Kelly is describing his "new girlfriend" while Usher is noticing that his "girlfriend" might be the same person. After comparing the female, they notice that they are messing with the same girl. We chose this song for many reasons. Even though it is an old song, it as a song that we both knew. Both of us knows the lyrics to most of the song and that was a plus one for making this project easier for us. Secondly, it was easy for us to do. For the most part, we get to do the project at home since we are going through times where in front communication is limited. We can do this project at home because for the most part, the two men are on the phone in their own homes, so we thought that was an advantage for the project. Overall though, we think this project would be very fun and simple so we chose to work together and chose to do this specific song.

Production Blog: Halfway There

 My group and I are still currently filming our video for our final task. The due date for the assignment is almost near and we are halfway through the video. We currently recorded the parts where we decided that we were going to split then this weekend, we plan to meet up at a park and rehearse the last scene of the film. Due to the fact that the assignment is due in a week, I think my group is on perfect timing. After the meet on Sunday, we plan to start editing the video so that we can attach it to our blogs. On Sunday, it is our last shooting day out of 4. We plan on meeting up at a park where we all are close by, and we will shoot the last minute or the last few seconds of the film. The beginning or the first minute and a half of the film, we did all our recordings at our homes by ourselves. This works because it is like everyone is getting a phone call from separate areas. Production Blog: First Few Seconds

During spring break, my group and i started our recording process for our film for our final task. Our group  has been working hard to get our first scene right. The first clip of the video is about 15 - 30 seconds long. After finishing it the editor of the group has begun doing the editing process of the film. Since the break, we haven't done much recording since. We want to film each scene piece by piece. We also understand that some of the group mates might b busy from time to time that's why we broke up our filming dates. We are also still currently in the starting process of our film. We do plan on doing some more recording this weekend since we do have a 3 day weekend and it gives us much time to do some recording. We plan on recording our second scene of the film and then try to do some more recording throughout the week. Production Blog: Sunday and Final Plans

 Finally, my group and I have officially decided what we were going to do and we confirmed it. So now, because we still haven't recorded our final part of the film, which will be recorded on Sunday, we are still at Base B with our film but for sure we are almost done. Currently, every member of the group has their own parts. Like said before in the last blog, we want to start editing our film around next Tuesday so that we can submit our film on Thursday. To start editing on Tuesday, we have to submit all of our clips by Tuesday so our editor of the group can start editing. It is for sure that every person apart of our group will be in the film. I will be in the first clip, I will be the one who commits suicide. Most likely I will only be in that only clip of the film. I will also be apart of another clip but I will be on a flyer.
