Intro Blog

     


          Hello, I am Aniya Smith, a 11th grader from Fort Lauderdale High School and this year, I am taking AICE Media Studies AS level. I chose this class because it seemed to be a very fun class and from reviews from my friends and peers, it is quite fun and you'll learn how to use cameras the right type of way and also learn how to properly make videos. Taking and passing this class would be one of the ways that I get my Cambridge diploma and earn my Bright Futures Scholarship to get the opportunity to go to any Florida college I choose.  

          At school, I am a cheerleader for the Flying L's for the second year and it has been a pretty fun ride. I enjoy cheering at the football and basketball games and I enjoy performing at the school events whenever we have one while dancing with the band. I also enjoy going to other school sports events or any kind of school event such as track meets, volleyball games, plays, concerts and other events. I also participate in clubs while I have the time to such as fashion and BLOOM. School clubs are usually very fun and productive and you actually really enjoy your time if it is the right club for you. 

          In the class, I am usually very productive when it is the subject I like. I am a very hands on person so when i learn I usually like to do it physically but since Covid, everything is done online. It isn't really harder to learn it is just something different that I would now have to learn how to adapt to it. In class physically, I am okay with working with people. It is harder for me to work with people that I don't know but I try to insure that we get the work done. By myself though, it is more easier and quicker. I do my assignment to the best of my ability and try to turn everything in on time. 

          This school year, I am hoping that even though we are doing school from home, that this point in our lives shall pass and we can get back into the classrooms so that everything could be easier. I know some students are struggling through this time whether because they don't have the supplies, the access, or it is     just harder for them to do school at home. In the future I hope everything about school just falls back in place worldwide and not just where I stay because people are still dying from this disease everyday. And for the class, I hope that it is a joyful experience and that I get to learn how to properly use a camera and most of all have fun doing it while passing the class.

Production Blog: Halfway There

 My group and I are still currently filming our video for our final task. The due date for the assignment is almost near and we are halfway through the video. We currently recorded the parts where we decided that we were going to split then this weekend, we plan to meet up at a park and rehearse the last scene of the film. Due to the fact that the assignment is due in a week, I think my group is on perfect timing. After the meet on Sunday, we plan to start editing the video so that we can attach it to our blogs. On Sunday, it is our last shooting day out of 4. We plan on meeting up at a park where we all are close by, and we will shoot the last minute or the last few seconds of the film. The beginning or the first minute and a half of the film, we did all our recordings at our homes by ourselves. This works because it is like everyone is getting a phone call from separate areas. Production Blog: First Few Seconds

During spring break, my group and i started our recording process for our film for our final task. Our group  has been working hard to get our first scene right. The first clip of the video is about 15 - 30 seconds long. After finishing it the editor of the group has begun doing the editing process of the film. Since the break, we haven't done much recording since. We want to film each scene piece by piece. We also understand that some of the group mates might b busy from time to time that's why we broke up our filming dates. We are also still currently in the starting process of our film. We do plan on doing some more recording this weekend since we do have a 3 day weekend and it gives us much time to do some recording. We plan on recording our second scene of the film and then try to do some more recording throughout the week. Production Blog: Sunday and Final Plans

 Finally, my group and I have officially decided what we were going to do and we confirmed it. So now, because we still haven't recorded our final part of the film, which will be recorded on Sunday, we are still at Base B with our film but for sure we are almost done. Currently, every member of the group has their own parts. Like said before in the last blog, we want to start editing our film around next Tuesday so that we can submit our film on Thursday. To start editing on Tuesday, we have to submit all of our clips by Tuesday so our editor of the group can start editing. It is for sure that every person apart of our group will be in the film. I will be in the first clip, I will be the one who commits suicide. Most likely I will only be in that only clip of the film. I will also be apart of another clip but I will be on a flyer.
