Production Blog: Recording Process

During the break, my group and I decided to start the recording process of our final task. We started piece by piece on recording the first scene of our video. We thought it would have been a little difficult but it was fairly easy. The first scene of our video takes place in a teenage girls room about to commit suicide. We used different camera angles to slow a little part of the room and to show the face of the girl and the reason why she is about to do what she is about to do (the computer). The props that we used for this scene was the computer and her own bed set. This is really the only items that you see in the first few seconds of the film. We used me, Aniya Smith, as the girl in the first clip. The rest of the members will be recording until it is their time to act. During the first scene, we met up at my home to record. I had parent validation that it was okay for all members to come to my home. We have chose to do this for serious health reasons due to us being in a global pandemic. When everyone came we began to work. We filmed a couple of times to make sure that we had everything that we needed to make the perfect film. We made sure that we had perfect camera angle, good lighting that we can see the actors and we made sure that each actor in the scene is playing their part correctly and going through the right lines. The recording process was very easy for our group. In my home, in my room, the sun hits inside of my room perfectly so there is enough light to see what is exactly going on. We are going to continue to go into our second scene this weekend since we have three days off. We believe breaking each scene and doing them at different times is very beneficial to all of us since some of us have things to do such as work and other things. The editor of our group, Maiyah Dukes has already started editing the first scene, she has edited parts that she likes and fixed parts that she thinks needs fixing. We have also put music in the first scene and we believe that is going to be the only scene that has music in it. Other than that the group is heading to a great start on the recording process.
