Production Blog: Establishing Roles
Currently in our final task we are officially picking up progress. Though we haven't actually started to record, we are in the process of deciding who is doing what in the task. About a week or two ago we were really stuck on who wants to do what. Someone wanted to be outside of the video recording, someone wanted to be the main character, others wanted to direct the whole video and one of the group members didn't want to be in the video at all. But today, March 10, 2021, we have finalized and established what we are doing in the film.
In the film, there will be at least 2-3 main characters in the film since theres only four of us in the group. The other group member will most likely be the recorder if it is possible and okay with Cambridge. Because the film is about two minutes, we want to try to fit all of the actors in the film with an appropriate time period. For the actors, we don't them to have to stress and have to struggle with their part knowing that their part will not be more than 45 seconds. So we want to make sure all participants are comfortable with what they're doing.
For the other member of the group who is doing the recording, they will be in charge of what the film looks like overall. With this, their job is to make sure they make sure that every recording is perfect. For example, lighting in the film is important. The director will have to make sure every other actor is being seen in the film and most importantly, heard. We want to make sure when someone is talking in the film, they are being heard. Better lighting creates better film and better sounding in the production makes everything look better overall. They will also do the editing part of the film. They will make sure that all of the clips of the film piece together and that the film makes sense and that it is under two minutes and fifteen seconds.
With music production, we already know what and who we want our music from who and by who. One of the group members in the group already makes music so we've decided to use his music as a promotion of his music and it is easier for us to add music in our film. This is also beneficial because in this task, it is required for each group to ask for "permission" for someone's music with a form signed so it will be way easier for our group to just use his music instead of going the extra mile to find someone else's music and have to go through signing a contract with other people. I think the production music in the film will be very good as long as we use the clean version of whatever song we use. Currently, we don't know what part of the film where we're going to use the music, we are debating between the beginning of the film or the end of the film but we do know that we don't want it to be heard throughout the film.
